Bringing Music to New Spaces One of the most exciting developments in Mobile Robotics is the ability for autonomous systems to transport equipment, lighting, and even sound systems to remote or unusual locations. Imagine a future "Autumn Cheer" concert where small, silent mobile robots help set up our risers or move delicate instruments across the Goods Shed with perfect precision. These tools aren't here to replace the singers, but to handle the heavy lifting, allowing us to focus entirely on the music.
Robotics as a Tool for Accessibility We pride ourselves on being an "open door" choir. Interestingly, research in Mobile Robotics is focused on creating assistive devices that can help people with limited mobility attend community events more easily. From robotic chairs that navigate local venues to telepresence robots that could allow a housebound member to "stand" in the choir loft and sing with us via a screen, the potential for inclusivity is limitless.
